CHILDREN'S ACTIVITIES

Muswell Hill Methodist Church runs several community groups for pre-school children in North Bank.

We have a Young Church that meets during our morning worship on a Sunday morning, and uniformed organisations for girls.

The safety of children and young people entrusted to our care is a matter that we take very seriously. We follow the stringent procedures of the Methodist Church that are designed to help churches provide and maintain a safe environment for the children and young people who use our premises. All our workers are required to make an application via the Criminal Records Bureau and the Churches Agency on Safeguarding prior to working with children and young people. Click here to see a copy of our Safeguarding policy. For more information on the Methodist Church's policy on Safeguarding, see http://www.methodist.org.uk/ministers-and-office-holders/safeguarding.

COMMUNITY GROUPS

Our community groups for pre-school children, run by church volunteers, happen during the week in term-time. The groups are currently taking a break until September, but there are picnics for under 4's with a parent or carer on Wednesdays from 19 July to 23 August, from 10.30am to 12.30pm. Inside if wet!

To keep in touch with what's happening in our community groups, you can see the latest issue of our community groups' newsletter here and sign up to our mailing list to be kept in touch about upcoming events.

Tiny Talk

Tiny Talk no longer meets as a separate group on Tuesday afternoons, but parents and carers with younger babies are very welcome to join in at Baby Talk on Tuesday mornings.

A new option is a Tiny Talk area in the Church Hub on Thursday afternoons from 1.30pm to 3.30pm, while the Drop-in Baby Weight Clinic is happening upstairs. There is no charge for this - just a small donation for refreshments.

Stop by for a chat ... a cuppa ... maybe feed the baby - or come for a bit longer to meet with others in the same boat!

Deutsche Krabbelgruppe

This is an informal meeting of German-speaking carers (parents, grand-parents, nannies), with toys, chat in German, musings on cultural differences, sometimes biscuits, almost always singing (requests for specific German children's songs always welcome.) This drop-in group meets from 3-5pm on Wednesday afternoons.

Deutsche Krabbelgruppe is not run by church volunteers - contact 07906651655 (Katharina), or see them on Facebook (Deutsche Krabbelgruppe London Muswell Hill).

UNIFORMED ORGANISATIONS

Our uniformed organisations include Rainbows (for girls aged 5-7 years), Brownies (for girls aged 7-10 years) and Guides (for girls aged 10-14 years). If you are too old for Guides, Rangers (for young women aged between 14 and 26) is for you! Alexandra Park Rangers meet at different locations, one of which is North Bank..

If you are interested in volunteering as an Adult Leader or joining Rainbow, Brownies, Guides or Rangers, please complete the online form at www.girlguiding.org.uk/interested. More information on Girlguiding is also available on this website.

YOUNG CHURCH

This meets on Sunday mornings between 10.30am, during the main church service. All children and young people are welcome to join. Young Church is led by an enthusiastic and committed team using the 'Scripture Union' programme. There is also a 13+ young people's group that meets alongside Young Church.

Our premises are also used by a range of outside groups who run classes for children, some of whom advertise on our Links page.
