Annual Covenant Service - 10 September
This year's Covenant Service will be held at 10.30am on Sunday 10 September. Each year, as invited by their founder John Wesley, Methodist congregations hold a special service to renew their covenant relationship with God. The emphasis of the whole service is on God's readiness to enfold us in generous love, not dependent on our deserving, and our response. The covenant is not just a one-to-one transaction between individuals and God, but the act of the whole faith community. The service includes the celebration of Holy Communion.
Evening Worship at 6pm
There is a monthly evening service of a more contemplative nature, exploring themes on healing. The next service will be on 24th September.
OPEN ARCHIVES - Saturday 16 September 3-6pm
The church and grounds will be open as part of the London Open House weekend. There will be assortments of maps, plans, photos, census records, newspaper cuttings, and other memorabilia in the Garden Room. The church will also be open for visitors to see Harvest flower arrangements, and there will be an illustrated talk around 4pm on the history of the church, North Bank, and the locality as part of wider events happening in Muswell Hill for the London Open House weekend. Light refreshments available, plus playspace for children.
HARVEST FESTIVAL - Sunday 17 September
Our Harvest Festival at 10.30am on Sunday 17 September is an all-age worship service to which everyone is invited. This year, the soup kitchen has asked for financial donations rather than gifts of non-perishable food. The service will be followed by a bring and share lunch.
Open House - every Thursday in the Church Hub, 10am to 4pm
An informal drop-in, where everyone is welcome to pop in at any time for a chat or light refreshments. Play space for young children. Prayers are held at 12.30pm (apart from during August), and the church is open for quiet contemplation throughout the day.
Our prayer network is a means by which prayer requests of pastoral concern can be relayed to those who have expressed a desire to pray in this way. Alison Macdonald is coordinating this task, in conjunction with our minister, Sister Myrtle Poxon, and our pastoral convenor, Liz Gamble, who ensure prayer requests are appropriate and do not breach confidentiality. Prayer requests are then passed on by text, email, or phone to the members of the prayer network.
If you would like to join the prayer network, or have a prayer request, please email Alison Macdonald.
