Young Church

Our Young Church groups meet on Sunday mornings at 10.30am, at the same time as our main church services. We normally join the congregation for the first part of the service, then go to our separate groups for our own activities. We have two main groups – for children aged 4-11 and for youngsters aged 12-18. Young Church is led by an enthusiastic and committed team. Our activities are varied, ranging from Bible-based education, craft, acting and drama, to discussion of subjects of topical interest. One of the highlights of our year is our Christmas “production”, when the children act out the Christmas story, often with a slight twist.

There is also a 13+ young people’s group that meets regularly.

Our premises are also used by a range of outside groups who run classes for children, some of whom advertise on our Links page.

Safeguarding

The safety of children and young people entrusted to our care is a matter that we take very seriously. We follow the stringent procedures of the Methodist Church that are designed to help churches provide and maintain a safe environment for the children and young people who use our premises. All our workers are required to make an application via the Criminal Records Bureau and the Churches Agency on Safeguarding prior to working with children and young people.
