Rev Matt writes: “I am excited about our 2023/24 programme. Our Leadership Team have chosen the theme ‘Hidden Treasures’ for this coming year. This is the theme for the President and Vice-President of the Methodist Conference. ‘Hidden Treasures’ is based on Isaiah 45:3, with further inspiration from Romans 8:22-29 and Psalm 139. Our theme reminds us that God is at work in the darkness, and in the most difficult of times. We believe that God’s hidden treasures are present, often in the most unexpected places and unexpected people. This is an opportunity for us to discover our hidden treasures within our church community and the local community.
We will be following ‘a rhythm of mission’ throughout the year. There are key calendar moments where we can naturally reach out into our community. These include Harvest, Remembrance Sunday, Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter, and Pentecost. So I encourage you to be excited on what’s happening, write the dates in your diary, and invite your friends. Our vision going forward is ’to be an inclusive, justice-seeking and growing church’. You are God’s treasure.”
