Mary and Joseph have visited Arslanian family house. We have revised the real Christmas meaning and truly enjoyed having them visit us. Maria and Leya have baked cookies and Mary and Joseph was by their side. Once cookies were done Maria suggested to bring them onto church and share with our church family. Leya was fascinated by Mary’s pregnant tummy and said: ‘Baby will come in a second’. We thank God for this opportunity and wish Mary and Joseph a peaceful and safe rest of their trip. God bless. Leya, Maria, Amber and Ilias.
Mary and Joseph went to stay with Mariia and Iurii, who live in the flats exactly where the old Methodist Church used to be. They met baby Anna, and saw a huge pink inflatable number 1, ready for Anna’s first birthday on 18th. They also looked at some pictures on the walls, with people who looked rather like them! These had been family gifts from Ukraine. But the best was a new Ukrainian friend who kept them company up on the table where they could watch baby Anna playing down on the floor. (She loves to be in her buggy in the gardens at church, but it’s too cold at the moment!)
Mary and Joseph were hosted by Jackie and enjoyed sharing a cup of tea, making friends with the cat, looking at the Winter Wonderland and playing playing Mexican Trains.
Mary & Joseph helped out at the very busy foodbank, the Food Bank Aid hub.
Rev Matt very kindly brought Mary and Joseph to our home through the ice and snow. They were glad to be cosy and warm, and spent the day watching us get everything ready for our Housegroup Christmas celebration. Along with Farhad, Siavash and Soheila from Iran, Mary and Joseph were our special guests, sharing in carols, prayers and readings in English and Farsi by the Christmas tree. They were then amazed by how much delicious food had been brought and shared by 17 people around the table, and smiled at how several guests were still wearing their Christmas cracker crowns as they left! We shared a prayer as Catherine gave Mary and Joseph to Ruth for the next stage of their journey. What a pleasure and privilege it had been to have them with us.
Wave Church had a pleasure hosting Mary & Joseph.
